Eligibility Criteria – Assam High School TET Recruitment 2024

Age Limit: 

Candidates age should not be less than 18 years and not more than 40 years as on 01.01.2023.

Age Relaxation: The upper age relaxation will be as follows-

Educational Qualification

The required educational qualification details differ post wise so we have provided this information below post wise.

Graduate Teacher (Arts & Science)

  • The candidate for the position of Graduate Teacher (Arts) must be an Arts / Commerce Graduate or Post Graduate in Arts / Commerce from a recognized university, with at least 50% marks in either Graduation or Post Graduation (or its equivalent), as well as a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from a National Council for Teacher Education recognized institution(s).
  • The candidate for the position of Graduate Teacher (Science) must be a Science Graduate or Post Graduate in Science from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in either Graduation or Post Graduation (or its equivalent), as well as a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from a National Council for Teacher Education-recognised institution.

Graduate Teacher (Hindi)

  • Pravin/ Ratna in Hindi with 50% marks and a degree qualification with 50% marks or a postgraduate degree in arts with 50% marks from any recognized university; OR BA with 50% marks and Hindi as one of the subjects with 50% marks or a postgraduate degree in arts with 50% marks if he has passed BA with Hindi as one of the subjects with 50% marks.
  • B.T./B.Ed. degree from any recognized university (PARANGAT will be considered as a B.Ed. degree for Hindi teaching purposes only).
  • According to Govt. OM No. ASE.238/2014/213, dated 22.11.2019, degrees/certificates issued by off-campus institutions with territorial jurisdiction outside the State of Assam but with a study centre in the State, as well as study centres that are not recognized by DEC under UGC, shall not be considered valid for employment under the Education Department. Degrees/diplomas awarded by KKHSOU, IGNOU, and IDOL at Gauhati University, as well as Distance Education at Dibrugarh University, will be considered valid for employment reasons.
  • Secondary TET applicants must get 60% on each paper in the UR category and 55% in the OBC/MOBC, SC, ST(P), ST(H), and PwD categories.

Graduate Teacher (Sanskrit)

  • Shastri with 50% marks and having degree qualification with 50% marks or post Graduate degree in Arts with 50% marks from any recognized University, Or BA with 50% marks and having Sanskrit as one of the subjects with 50% of marks or Post Graduate Degree in Arts with 50% marks in Sanskrit.
  • # B.T. / B.Ed. degree from any recognized University.

Off-campus Degree:

According to the Assam Secondary Education (Provincialised Schools) (Amendment) Service Rules, 2021, those institutions with territorial jurisdiction outside the State of Assam but with a study centre in the State, and such study centres are not recognized by DEC under UGC, the degrees / certificates issued by such off-campus institutions will not be considered valid for employment under the Education Department. However, degrees/diplomas given by KKHSOU, IGNOU, IDOL under Gauhati University, and Distance Education under Dibrugarh University would be regarded legitimate for employment purposes.

Medium of Instruction

  • In the case of an Assamese Medium School, the candidate must have completed the HSLC or equivalent examination with Assamese as one of the topics, or hold a Diploma in Assamese Language given by the Axom Sahitya Sabha, or have read up to the HSLC level in Assamese Medium School.
  • In the case of a Bengali Medium School, the candidate must have completed an HSLC or comparable examination with Bengali as one among the subjects, hold a Bengali Language Certificate given by the Barak Upatyaka Bangya Sahitya Sanskriti Sammetan, or have read up to the HSLC level in Bengali Medium School.
  • In the case of a Hindi medium school, the candidate must have passed the HSLC or comparable examination with Hindi as one of the topics, or have completed the HSLC level in Hindi medium school.
  • at the case of Bodo Medium School, the candidate must have passed an HSLC or comparable examination with Bodo as one among the topics, or have read up to the HSLC level at Bodo Medium School.
  • For English Medium School, the candidate must have passed the HSLC or comparable examination with Alternative English as one of the courses, or have read in English Medium School from Class XI.
