Selection Process:
The Selection Process of India Post GDS Recruitment consists of following stages –
Shortlisting: The Department will make the list of candidates shortlisted for engagement available on the GDS Online Portal. Following the announcement of the results, the selected applicants will be notified via SMS on their registered cellphone number and email on their registered email addresses.
Merit List: The Merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained/ conversion of Grades/Points to marks in Secondary School Examination of 10th standard of recognised Boards aggregated to percentage to the accuracy of 4 decimals.
Physical Verification of Documents: Following that, the shortlisted candidates must report to the office of the designated authority, i.e., the Divisional/Unit Head of the Division/Unit where the position is advertised, for physical document verification and further engagement formalities within 15 days of being shortlisted.
Final Selection: Following successful verification by the Divisional Head, the candidate must complete the pre-engagement formalities for joining within 30 days of receiving the ‘offer of provisional engagement’, which include, among other things, three days of prescribed basic training, accommodation arrangements, and so on. Failure to fulfill these procedures or not joining thereafter for any reason whatsoever would invite termination of the candidature immediately, on expiry of the abovementioned required time of 30 days, and the job would be awarded to the next contender.
